Officer Down-NEW

16 Hours

Purpose:  The Officer Down or (OD) program is designed to give non-medically trained law enforcement professionals the knowledge and ability to treat life threatening emergencies in the first few moments after a critical incident or when EMS is denied entry into a scene for safety reasons.  This program is registered with MCOLES and is eligible for 302 funding.

Basic Rope Rescue for First Responders (BRR)
12 Hours

Purpose: The Basic Rope Rescue or (BRR) program is designed to meet and exceed the basic rope rescue needs of agencies who primarily work in the low angle environment (slopes of 15 to 40 degrees).  This course is designed to be the initial training program for students who intend to continue on with more advanced high angle rope rescue skills.  Program instructional objectives include, but are not limited to, low angle litter movement, rappelling, knots, anchor points, patient packaging and backboarding.

 

Advanced Rope Rescue for First Responders (ARR)
12 Hours

Purpose: The Advanced Rope Rescue or (ARR) program is designed to meet and exceed the more advanced rope rescue needs of agencies who primarily work in the low angle environment (slopes of 15 to 40 degrees) but may occasionally be called to work a rescue in a vertical environment.  This course is designed to be a continuation of the BRR initial training program.  Program instructional objectives include, but are not limited to, advanced rapelling techniques, simple mechanical advantage systems, ascending and a brief review of all instructional objectives learned in BRR.

Low Angle Rescue Support Team (LARST)

10.5 Hours

Purpose:  The Low Angle Rescue Support Team (LARST) program is a 10.5 hour low angle rescue course that focuses on the needs of Fire, EMS , & Law Enforcement agencies who work primarily in the low angle environment (15-40 degrees). Heavy emphasis is placed on knots, patient packaging, anchor points, body belays and team litter movement. Students will also participate in a rescue simulation for the culmination of the program.
